Big drinkers might be disappointed |
Date Posted: 19/12/2011 |
| I will definitely use this item when the time comes, but I am a very big drinker, so it wont last me as long as it probably does most people, and its harder for me to get refills in theory because Im blind, so if people are busy, I may well have to wait. Will definitely make life easier though! |

Simple idea - priceless value |
Date Posted: 27/01/2011 |
| My wife went into her 40+ hour labour armed with one of these hydrants and it was worth its weight in gold. Instead of constantly requesting cups of water, she was able to help herself whenever she wished. Given the stretched resources of midwives these days, this little piece of enabled self-service was great - and all of the midwife staff thought it was great idea as well. |

A godsend as I got to grips with breastfeeding in hospital |
Date Posted: 24/01/2011 |
| This product is fantastic! One thing that they dont always tell you about breastfeeding is how thirsty you get. When you think that you are providing all your little ones drinking water it is no surprise! In hospital I was given one small jug of water and a plastic cup when I arrived and it always seemed to be out of reach when I was feeding. I was in hospital for 4 days after the birth and the hydrant was a godsend as I was drinking a lot of water each time I fed Joseph and it was always available, clipped to the side of the bed. The nurses and midwives all thought it was fantastic too, especially for mums who have had a caesarian. I cant recommend this product enough, you can also use it when you get home too clipped to your nursing chair. Breastfeeding can be hard to get to grips with in the early stages and any product which helps to make your life more comfortable is definitely worth it. One to add to the hospital bag! |

Hands-free for feeding! |
Date Posted: 24/01/2011 |
| I took The Hydrant into hospital to use during labour and afterwards - it was a godsend! Just to have both of my own hands free to squeeze my husbands hand to pieces was worth it! Whilst breastfeeding I was able to quench my thirst without stopping to faff around with mugs and cups. Its really helpful when Im on my own at home too - just fill it up before you start and then you can settle down with no worries - very useful as Eva sometimes takes up to an hour to finish! I would recommend The Hydrant to everyone who gets that "feeding thirst" where you suddenly find yourself thinking, I wish Id made a drink before I started! |

Hospital and breast feeding essential |
Date Posted: 24/01/2011 |
| The Hydrant was the most useful thing in my hospital bag. I was in hospital for a week and if I had been dependant on the hospital water jugs I would certainly have become dehydrated. Being able to attach the Hydrant to the bed was really helpful as we were moved rooms so often and the bed was moved with me. Having had a caesarian the Hydrant was a godsend with helping my recovery. All the midwives and doctors were very impressed by the Hydrant as a way to monitor patients fluid intake. Back at home the Hydrant has really helped me to breast feed, its all too easy to become dehydrated even if you remember to get a glass of water before each feed its often out of reach! I highly recommend it for all expectant mothers. |

Fantastic in hospital |
Date Posted: 23/01/2011 |
| I found the hydrant fantastic both during and after my sons birth. It was great to have a really available supply of water which I could drink from any angle and was really useful following my c-section when I was less mobile.
The only reason I am giving 4 stars rather than 5 is that once I was at home the bottle had a tendancy to tip over when it was almost empty but that could be remedied by attaching it to something with the handy clip. |

A Thirst Saver! |

| I used the Hydrant after giving birth and found it indispensable. Although I wasnt in hospital, it was just brilliant whilst breastfeeding either in bed or sitting on the sofa. Its just one less thing to worry about when you dont have any hands free or cant reach across for a glass of water. I have also found it equally as invaluable whilst doing bottle feeds as then you really dont have any free hands. A brilliant idea which I think any new mum should have - would be great as part of the Bounty Starter Pack! |

Review of the hydrant |
Date Posted: 16/12/2010 |
| I came to this product through its use for women in labour and for those who had undergone surgery in the form of a CS. This device is based on such simple principles but it allows for such great personal control over access to fluid, and, where this is needed, this could be fluid containing nutrional supplements. With regard to post CS women, one of their greatest needs is adequate fluid intake in the first couple of days, and access to this without pain from over stretching or needing to lift a full jug of water. This is truly one of the simplest and most effective devices I have come across and I totally support the need for it to be made more widely available |

Hydrate for Health Drinking Bottle |
Date Posted: 16/12/2010 |
| What a fanastic product. I bought this with my impending c section in mind but having been suffering with pneumonia recently I have already had the chance to try this product out. It has been important for me to drink plenty of fluids but I had a lot of chest pain and found it hard to sit up. All through the day and night I could just take sips without having to move. The hydrant is now packed in my hospital bag and ready to come in handy post c section and when breastfeeding. I thoroughly recommend this product! |

C-Section and the Hydrant |
Date Posted: 16/12/2010 |
| I used the Hydrant having had a C-Section for the birth of my daughter. Being able to take a drink without reaching over to my bedstand definitely reduce the discomfort associated with recovery from the surgery. An added benefit was that I felt more self-sufficient, not having to call for a nurse every time i needed a drink. I would definitely recommend! |

You must have this bottle during your hospital stay |
Date Posted: 16/12/2010 |
| I used it during the long labour and postnatal stay at the hospital and it was GREAT. I could drink whenever I wanted without any effort. I didnt have to sit up, reach the bottle and struggle to open it. With The Hydrant Bottle grab the tube. I was drinking much more than during first labour when I was embarrassed to ask for water all the time. I also didnt have to get up because with this bottle you can drink in lying position. All midwifes an nurses were amazed how useful is this bottle and I was surprised that they dont know it - it should be used at hospitals widely on all wards. The size of the bottle is just right - you dont have to refill it too often and its not too heavy.
But there are some disadvantages as well. Water spills easily when it falls down and its unstable - this can be a problem if you cant hang it. You can drink only water from it because cleaning the tube after drinking juice may be very difficult unless you buy special brash. After some use the mouthpiece is not leak-proof. I used this bottle also at home next to my bed but I stopped after few wet accidents when the tube fallen down and water spilled onto my carpet. Unfortunately now I drink much less water. Luckily you can buy spare tube but its quite expensive.
I really recommend this bottle for hospital use - be prepared before admission. But you must be careful at home not to damaged your carpets. I would like to test also the sport version of Hydrant Bottle - maybe its more suitable for home use. |

| I used this in hospital after the birth of my 3rd child and wish I had had one for the other two. Its so easy to keep your fluid intake up with this and so simple to use. I am recommending to all
my friends and not just the pregnant ones! |
