My new favourite cookbook |
Date Posted: 19/10/2011 |
| My children are now 4 and almost 2 and yet there are still recipes from this book that we have in our weekly menu! I was clueless when I first started thinking about weaning and this book gives you straightforward advice and lists of potential foods for each stage. It also has a "Weaning at a glance" calendar for each stage, which helped me plan the number of meals and snacks and milk feeds needed - having breastfed on demand, this was just what I needed. What I also like, is that rather than shy away from "exotic" tastes, the recipes are exciting and flavoursome with garlic, cumin, coriander and all kinds of herbs and spices featuring regularly. I also love the fact that, once you get to the 9-12 month stage, the recipes are perfect for all the family to enjoy, so you arent fussing making separate meals. Our favourite is still Courgette Risotto, now also beloved of my mother-in-law and sister-in-law! My children love their food, all kinds of flavours and never turn their noses up at anything - now I might be lucky, but I think that this book has gone a long way to helping us achieve that. |
