The Active Birth Centre was founded by Janet Balaskas in the 1980's. This is where pioneering concepts such as yoga for pregnancy, active birth and baby massage were invented. Our work is highly regarded by professionals and parents and has had a transformative influence on birth education and maternity services. Our highly experienced specialist teachers were trained by Janet Balaskas and have worked with her for many years.
We offer a programme of inspirational classes, workshops and birth preparation courses at our London Centre and have a wide network of teachers trained with us. We are also a centre of excellence for professional training in our methods.
