Report on first-time mothers and fathers attending NCT antenatal courses
In 2009 NCT carried out a study to explore the experiences, feelings and views of parents attending NCT antenatal courses across the UK.
This report is about parents' experiences of birth, the maternity services and life with a new baby. Over 900 women and men completed a questionnaire at the end of their antenatal course, at 38 mean weeks of pregnancy, and a follow-up questionnaire when their baby was around three months old.
The findings highlight the importance of NCT services in preparing expectant parents for birth and the first weeks of parenthood.
