Safe Swaddling of your baby: The benefits of swaddling can include reduced crying and more settled sleep patterns for your baby however care should be taken to ensure you swaddle properly so that baby is safe and healthy.
To allow for healthy hip development, your baby’s legs should be able to bend up and out at the hips which allows for natural development of the hip joints. Baby’s legs should not be tightly wrapped in a straight down position and pressed together. Baby’s swaddled with the hips and knees in an extended position may be exposed to an increased risk of hip dysplasia and dislocation.
The NCT Swaddling Blanket features a loose pouch or sack for the baby’s legs and feet and allows for plenty of hip movement. This is important as it allows the hips to spread apart and bend up.

Disappointed with product, no instructions and baby managed to wriggle out each time we tried to use it- we gave up in the end.

Pleased with the quality of the product, but the blanket came with no instructions, which as a new mum-to-be I was disappointed about. I was surprised that the packaging was so basic, as NCT products are not the cheapest on the market. Luckily the website makes the product self explanatory so now I wont use it upside down!
